INT. AFTERNOON. LATREECE’S MANSION — HER ROOM
LATREECE has been trying to decide what to wear to JASPER and STEWIES party on MT. OLYMPUS that night. Her bed is littered with outfits and she is bopping around to this song. The mirrored walls reflect all her African art — especially the YORUBA statues that crowd the bedroom. JEREMIAH is out in the guest house trying on different outfits, too.
LATREECE
(dancing around and draping necklaces over her favorite statue)
I am going to look goooood, tonight baby.
JEREMIAH
(busts in through her bedroom door in his special chosen outfit)
Latreece! Girl whatchoo doin’
LATREECE
Pickin’ my outfit.
JEREMIAH
(eyes the mess of glimmering dresses piled on the bed, then spots the Yoruba altar)
Girl, you need to get right with my messiah.
LATREECE
I am not having this conversation with you again, Jeremiah.
JEREMIAH
That is just plain wrong.
LATREECE
Honey, this is Los Angeles.
What do you think of this one.
(she holds up a favorite gown and dances it around the room)
Put on some Aretha for me, Jeremiah.
JEREMIAH
(shakes head)
Yo daddy gonna be…
LATREECE
(pushes buzzer for servants)
How bout a nice cool drink, Jeremiah.
Cool you off some, while I get ready.
(moves to area of Motown records as Jeremiah is putting needle down on the record player)
This one.
LATREECE
(starts singing this and dancing around Jeremiah)
SERVANT
(arrives at door)
LATREECE
Mint Juleps.
SERVANT
(nods, after surveying all the clothes)
LATREECE
(heads to huge vanity table piled high with makeup and lipstick)
Jeremiah are you going to help me or not. I need to look fabulous tonight.
JEREMIAH
(shakes his head at her)
