nest — a tiny poem

the birds find you

slim grasses

take you to bed

the down cradling

little eggs

there are these nests we wanted to weave

a home full of down

the feathers fluffed

the comforters comforting

there were these eggs we had

there was this place we got lost

when they told us, no
