summerstraw — a tiny poem

If you asked me i’d say summerstraw

my favorite season

a 2.99 cent hat

one or two beachtowels all striped the colored umbrellas dotting

sand

this is where we peel off everything

sun

curing the ills of winter

the bonechill of the dark

and we run, running into waves, running into glisten the water shimmering around us the waves lapping at our barest feet the seabirds crying

on the edges of this particular shore
