what you left after all that love ~ poem #5

old barbed wirewhat you left after all that love

~

a fence of thorns

a rusty heart

a plowed field

a stake in the tart

an empty womb

a handful of tears

a treason in my years

a land of crushed sonnets

a pioneer’s bonnet

an open range

a freed grange

a flower in the green

a clipped wing

a bird that used to sing

~
