I looked up into the clouds with my lonely eyes
and there were lonely eyes all over the world
and we all said, why?
and millions and millions of why’s floated up
they were almost like butterflies, they were almost like swallows
we kept looking for something that was the bigger face
but there was nothing there but blue
there was nothing but white lace, clouds interlaced
there was only an atmosphere
and where were you?
the last thing I saw was this sky
on that day I looked up for you and I
on that day I needed to see a face
on the day I believed in the kindness of the human race
