So, you can have those mornings when you get very irritated about who your parents were, or how you spent your teen years, and then you grow up and well? You just lived your life, you know? And maybe you are a writer because of it. Which is what happened to me, anyway.
So my father and my uncle were both in film, many kinds of film.
I’m thinking of the show Mad Men because, well, my whole childhood is spent in the company of mad men, on some levels. They did what they wanted that is for certain. First pictures of my Uncle Spence. Spencer Crilly. Later he would take on the name Zoltan Spencer, just like dad took on his name to make the films they did.
But this is my Uncle.

This is my Uncle Spence (who I called Uncle Bud) when he was very young in Hollywood. He was a magician at The Magic Castle when he was little.

So my uncle was at USC when he was very young in the 1940’s — I got the ref for what he was doing yesterday — so cute.

So he made lots of films all over the world. At the end of his life in the 70’s he made some Blue Movies, the posters of which are in the web. He made those under the name Zoltan Spencer. Which is kind of funny, actually.
Dad did the same thing.
Only moreso.

So anyway there are now entries for my uncle and my father in the web. And their films.
And they are in the IMDB too.
And their films are in the web?
Some of them.
So Dad. Don Brown before he changed his “nom de film” to Bob Vosse made Surfing films and Bullfight films. But then, He was Bob Vosse. And my mother left him.
So Dad.

The reason I picked Valentine Bonnaire as a nom de plume is because Dad used those initials for himself. In the Bob Vosse years.
Early pix of him:

and
You know?
They are both in the web as both.
Thanks heavens because both of them are gone now.
Little scraps of them EXIST.
My mother. She destroyed my relationship to dad by age 13.
My Uncle Spence passed away in 1977.
TRUTH.
